A Novel Chaotic System

July 26, 2021

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then the following 3:28, 25 fps, video must be worth 5.2 million words. It demonstrates an idea that came to me in a dream; or, at least, in that half-awake period before finally nodding-off. Perhaps it was actually a nightmare, since the original idea needed to be tweaked over many weeks to attain this final product.

The video is an overview, but details of construction can be found in this summary article (1.4 MB PDF file).[1] The embedded MP4 video plays on my Linux FireFox web browser. It also plays on the Silk web browser on my Amazon Fire tablet HD 10. If you have problems in viewing, you can download a 1280x720 MP4 video file here.[2] I've licensed this video under the CreativeCommons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International. If anyone would like to follow-up on this research, I can provide additional information, such as source code for the electromagnet driver circuitry. Send me an email message at the address indicated in the summary article.
